Pray for South Africa
I’m
getting use to white people hair once again, it’s really odd. The seasons are
changing, currently it is autumn and we are headed towards winter. The seasons
are the exact opposite from the four seasons back in Minnesota. Although, South
Africa’s winter is much more… how you say, gentle. While standing outside at
CATCH today, the sunrays were obscured by layers of murky clouds and wind
rushed all around. I never through I’d say it got chilly in Africa, but it did!
In Minnesotan terms, I would like to call this weather “comfortable”. Snuggle
into a sweatshirt and boom your set.
We
had Bible Club today, in which there were lower numbers than usual. We have had
lots of Holidays recently – and today is elections!!!
Political parties have been campaigning heavily for the past couple of months
and here it is – voting day. Lord, South Africa needs a president that will
lead this country with honesty, truth and integrity.
Whatever
your doing right now…reading this blog…stop. Pray for this nation. Pray
that strong leaders will arise and stand for what is morally right, that
corruption would be cut off, that South Africa would flourish into the strong
rainbow nation that has been prophesied over it, that citizens of South Africa
would be treated equally, that jobs would be generated, that families will be
provided for, that orphans are adopted into loving homes, that God’s grace
shine upon South Africa, and that great waves of revival and restoration sweep
across this nation and continue upwards across the rest of the continent. South Africa, you are beautiful!
I’ve
been camping on Isaiah 55. Each time I read through it, something new is revealed
through Gods word.
“...So
shall my word be that goes out from my mouth, it shall not return to me empty,
but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing
for which I sent it. For you shall go out in joy and be lead forth in peace”
Isaiah 55:11-12
Once again, this passage nails it! I pray
Isaiah 55 over South Africa… that these prayers not go out empty but that they
shall accomplish that which were they are purposed for.
When
God speaks, physical situations change. In the beginning, the earth was dark,
void and lifeless. The Spirit of God was present, and hovering over the
formless land.
And
then God said, “Let there be light” Genesis 1:3. God created the Heavens and
the Earth with His words. This is why
I believe they are the most powerful weapon we have. “For the word of God is
living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword…” Hebrews 4:12
