What is it like?

Earthquakes come. Mountains crumble into the sea. Oceans roar and foam. Yet, He is our refuge and strength. We shall have no fear. In Psalm 46, we are taught about disastrous events and throughout those times, we must trust in God. What is it like to live for God?
It doesn’t seem real important if we have the choice. Things are easily accessible. We have life ironed out pretty well in the twenty-first century. Then what, if any, is the role of God? As I claim to be a Christian, I ask myself this often. Where does religion fit into my life? To tell the truth, it doesn’t fit at all. We are busy. 7 billion lives running around like ants inside an anthill. Suspended by gravity. We don’t have time for religion, and to question if something is up there. There is not another moment that we have to waste on questioning if God exists. We can focus on that during the next chapter in our lives. Just take a moment to consider this: One day the entire earth will fall before Jesus and confess that He is Lord (Philippians 2:10-11). Clearly, that day hasn’t come yet. Now we have a choice. One day we’ll all fall before the one true King, but what if we bowed today? How would that change the course of our lives?
We were meant to live with purpose. Individual purpose. It seems like such a simple choice to make at the beginning. Doesn’t everybody want the guy that directs the wind and waves to be on their team? The choice comes with challenges. With all of our streets glittered with cash are we missing the point to life? Take the distractions and frustrations and give them up to Him. He is the only one that can truly manage our crazy schedules. We have the opponent of sin. This thing gets in our way, and does a great work of distracting us. We fail a lot. But God is merciful. He is our encourager. We can choose to have His spirit with us, no matter where we are. This is what the Christian life is all about. God desires for creation to love him, because he first loved us (1 John 4:19). Allowing the revelation of this man, Jesus, to sink into your heart… is the best decision you can make. Then you will discover what it’s like for yourself.
